LIVERMORE-AMADOR GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY

The Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society (LAGS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and support the study of genealogy. Founded in 1988, the group is based in Livermore, California and consists of over 100 members.

LAGS offers a variety of educational programs and events for both beginners and experienced genealogy researchers. The society holds monthly meetings and workshops, featuring guest speakers and discussions on genealogical topics. Additionally, LAGS sponsors an annual genealogy seminar and provides research assistance at its Family History Center.

LAGS also maintains a library of genealogical resources that are available to members and the public. The library contains books, CDs, microfilm, and other materials. The society also publishes a newsletter, The Livermore-Amador Genealogist, which is distributed to members three times a year.

In addition to their educational activities, LAGS is active in preserving and promoting local genealogical history. The society works with local historical societies and museum to digitize records and make them available online. The society also works with local schools to offer genealogy classes and field trips.

LAGS is a vibrant and active organization that continues to promote genealogy research and education in the Livermore-Amador area.
