The Montrose Historic Preservation Society (MHPS) is dedicated to preserving the rich history of Montrose, Alabama. Founded in 1992, MHPS is a non-profit organization that works to protect and preserve the historic structures, sites, and landscapes of Montrose.

MHPS works to create awareness and appreciation of the town’s history, as well as its unique architectural, cultural, and natural features. The organization holds educational events, such as lectures and workshops, to provide information on the history of Montrose and its preservation efforts.

MHPS also works to protect the historic buildings and sites of Montrose. The organization has worked to restore and preserve the old Montrose Depot, the former Anniston Foundry and Machine Company building, and many other historic structures.
