Ground Blizzard It was already quite cold in central Wisconsin when a winter wind came and began to stir up the snow that was already on the ground. That’s how ground blizzards get their name. The sky can be perfectly blue overhead with no new snow falling, just as it was here, yet visibility can be very shallow. If the wind velocity is high enough, serious blowing and drifting of snow can occur, creating dangerously unsafe travel conditions. The Historic Preservation Association of Marshfield Inc is a non-profit organization located in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Its mission is to preserve and promote the rich history and cultural heritage of the city of Marshfield and its surrounding areas.
