230719-O-A3612-2040 Approximately 30 educators from central and northern Wisconsin took part in a civic leader flight July 19, coordinated and hosted by Volk Field Air National Guard base. The day began with a briefing from Col. Matthew Eakins, Volk Field commander, before boarding two KC-135 Stratotankers from the Milwaukee-based 128th Air Refueling Wing to observe refueling missions for two F-35 Lightning fighter jets from the Madison, Wis.-based 115th Fighter Wing, as well as three F-16 fighter jets from the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth, Minn. After the flight, educators were served lunch and heard from Brig. Gen. David May, Wisconsin’s deputy adjutant general for Air, and State Chief Master Sgt.
