Founded in 1972, Friends of Old World Wisconsin is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Wisconsin's 19th-century population. Located in Eagle, WI, the organization is located on a 600-acre site which includes 26 historic buildings, including homes, a church, a schoolhouse, a firehouse, and a post office. The organization offers a variety of programming and events throughout the year, including educational programs for school groups and home-schoolers, special events such as 19th-century barn dances, craft demonstrations, and holiday celebrations.

The organization is also home to a number of museums, including the Living History Museum, where visitors can learn about the lives of Wisconsin's 19th-century settlers by interacting with costumed interpreters. The museum also features an extensive collection of artifacts and period photographs, as well as interactive exhibits.
