The Niagara Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Niagara, Wisconsin. The Society was formed in 1908 and incorporated in 1914. Its mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of Niagara and the surrounding area.

The Society collects artifacts, archives, photographs, and documents related to the area. It also maintains a museum with exhibits on local history, as well as a library with genealogical records and books about Niagara's history. The Society also offers a variety of educational programs, such as walking tours, lectures, and workshops.

The Society has a number of projects and activities to promote and preserve local history. It has published several books on the history of Niagara, including a pictorial history, a history of the Niagara Fire Department, a history of the Niagara Police Department, and a history of the Niagara Post Office. The Society also hosts several events throughout the year, such as an old-fashioned Christmas celebration and a summer festival.

The Society is funded by donations, membership fees, and grants. It is supported by volunteers who help with fundraising, special events, and other projects. The Society also works with other local organizations, such as the Niagara Area Chamber of Commerce and the Niagara Public Library, to promote local history.

IMG_0247 Piers Gorge State Recreation Area. We only hiked to the Pier 1 area, but I could have sat there all day listening to the water and soaking up the beauty of the area.

IMG_0261 Did you you know that the Menominee River on the WI/MI border is a popular white water rafting destination? I didn't either until recently. There's plenty of outfitters in this area that host rafting tours. It's on the list to come back specifically for this.
