Halcyon Beside the small storage building by the old elevator in Brandon, SOO 1003 makes its last runby through town. While the little steam engine has a way of shattering any quiet that snowfall could bring in, there was certainly something to be said about how much less chaotic this experience was than any of the others I've had this year.

There were moments, sure, but comparing the fairly leisurely ride along the WSOR Oshkosh Sub with the 1003 with anything else I've gone out for this year - the ever-chaotic 4014, the surprisingly crowded 6988, and the craziness of this years 261 - is hard to do. It was a busy outing, but a fairly calm one too, and a fantastic way to cap off all of my trips for 2021. Quite the busy year indeed, but, hey, we still got a month and some change left, so we can't get too far into this yet!
