WADE HISTORICAL SITE

Wade Historical Site is a historic landmark located in Greenbush, Wisconsin, United States. The site is a preserved 19th-century homestead that belonged to the Wade family, who settled in the area in the mid-1800s. The homestead consists of a farmhouse, a barn, a granary, and a smokehouse, all of which have been restored to their original condition.

The farmhouse was built in 1854 and features a mixture of Greek Revival and Italianate architectural styles. The interior of the house has been furnished with period pieces to give visitors a glimpse into the lives of the Wade family during the 19th century. The barn, granary, and smokehouse are also open for visitors to explore.

In addition to the homestead, the Wade Historical Site also features a one-room schoolhouse that was built in 1872. The schoolhouse was in operation until 1960 and has been restored to its original condition. Visitors can experience what it was like to attend school in the 19th century by sitting in the original desks and using the original chalkboard.

The Wade Historical Site is open to the public from May to October and offers guided tours of the homestead and schoolhouse. The site also hosts special events throughout the year, including a fall festival and a Christmas open house.
