Knights Ferry History & Museum Associates (KFHMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the town of Knights Ferry, California. Located in Stanislaus County, Knights Ferry was founded in 1849 during the California Gold Rush. KFHMA was formed in 1986 and works to ensure the town’s history is not forgotten.

KFHMA manages the Knights Ferry Museum, a 3,000 square foot facility housing a variety of historical artifacts and memorabilia. Items on display include photographs, documents, clothing, and items used by pioneers in the area. The museum also includes a replica of the Knights Ferry Post Office and a scale model of the historic Knights Ferry Bridge.

KFHMA sponsors and hosts several events throughout the year to celebrate the town’s history. These events include the annual Salmon BBQ & Car Show, a Fourth of July Parade, and the popular Halloween Scarecrow Contest.

The organization is also active in the local community and works to preserve the town’s historic sites and buildings. KFHMA has also developed educational programs on local history for local schools.

KFHMA is a valuable member of the Knights Ferry community and is dedicated to preserving and promoting the town’s history.

Amtrak San Joaquin 710 As of recently, Amtrak San Joaquin trains 710 & 719 between Oakland and Bakersfield, CA have been using the new Siemens Venture passenger cars. I photographed southbound train 710 at East Mariposa. In the background is the BNSF Mariposa Intermodal Facility. Lots of Amazon containers are being loaded onto double-stack wells.
