The Nansemond County Training School Heritage Center is located in Suffolk, Virginia, on the site of the former Nansemond County Training School. The school was constructed in 1924 as a segregated school for African American students and served as a crucial center of education for the Nansemond County community until its closure in 1969.

In 2012, the Nansemond County Training School Alumni Association transformed the historic building into a Heritage Center, dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the school and its impact on the community. The Heritage Center contains a museum, which houses artifacts and exhibits that showcase the history of the school and its impact on the community.

The center also provides educational programs and community events that celebrate the school's legacy and the accomplishments of its alumni. The Heritage Center's mission is to educate visitors about the school's history and significance in the context of the larger struggle for civil rights and social justice in the United States.

In addition to the museum, the Heritage Center also offers resources for genealogical research and hosts community events such as festivals, concerts, and workshops. The Nansemond County Training School Heritage Center serves as an important cultural and educational resource for the Suffolk community, preserving the history and legacy of this important institution for future generations.
