Bacon's Castle is a historic site located in Surry County, Virginia, just outside of Richmond. The building is believed to be the oldest brick dwelling in North America, and was built in 1665 by Arthur Allen, a wealthy Virginia planter. The house was originally named Allen's Brick House, but was renamed Bacon's Castle in the late 17th century after it was occupied by Nathaniel Bacon, a leader of the rebellion against Virginia's governor, Sir William Berkeley.

Bacon's Castle is a unique example of Jacobean architecture, featuring steeply pitched gables, ornate brickwork, and a symmetrical design. The interior of the house contains a number of original features, including paneling, fireplaces, and a rare example of a Jacobean staircase.

Over the years, Bacon's Castle has served a variety of purposes, including as a private residence, a tavern, and a tourist attraction. Today, the site is managed by Preservation Virginia and is open to visitors for tours and special events. Visitors can explore the historic house and its gardens, and learn about the history of the site and its significance in Virginia's colonial past.
