The Higginbotham House Museum is located in Tazewell, Virginia and is a testament to the rich history of this rural Appalachian area. The museum is housed in a charming two-story log house, built in 1790 by the Higginbotham family, one of the first settlers in the area. The house is one of the best examples of log house construction in the region and features many of its original features, including hand-hewn logs, mud daub walls, and hewed wooden pegs.

Visitors can also explore the museum's extensive collection of books and documents, as well as an extensive library of oral histories from local residents. Other exhibits include a replica of a moonshine still, as well as artifacts from the Civil War, World War I, and World War II.
