Community altar Montpelier, the capital of Vermont, suffered catastrophic flooding in July, 2023, as the rain-swollen Winooski River rose to 20.58 feet, three feet above flood stage. Downtown businesses were inundated, and many remain closed now three months later. This shrine, placed on the Langdon Street bridge over the river, has this text on the left-hand end: &quot;this is a ***community ALTAR*** ~ please give it respect and let it represent our Love for our communities ~ our experiences in the flood ~ the fear and trauma, the care and concern, the acts of bravery, kindness and resilience ~ as well as what we fear, can't see our ways through yet and don't know how we'll fix. undercroft The undercroft (area below the main part of the church). It was flooded completely to the ceiling, but, unlike the parish hall basement, there was nothing down here but heat &amp; electric, which the City wants moved up. If anything, it looks better than it did before.

sacristy The sacristy. There used to be a lot more in here than there is now! Its floor also needs to be replaced.

parish_hall The parish hall, which, like the sanctuary, had 1-2&quot; or water. It looks pretty much the same, except for the missing tables &amp; chairs.
