The Pomfret Historical Society Inc. (PHS) is a non-profit organization located in South Pomfret, Vermont. Founded in 1983, the Society’s mission is to promote and preserve the history of the Pomfret area.

PHS is committed to preserving the historical resources of the area and sharing its resources with the public. The organization maintains a collection of artifacts, documents, photographs, and other records relating to the history of Pomfret. The collection includes items from the colonial period to the present day.

The Society also offers educational programs and lectures to the community, and works to restore and preserve historic buildings and sites in the Pomfret area. PHS also works to maintain a research library and archive, and to provide a repository for historical materials.

The Society is governed by a Board of Directors, who are elected at the annual meeting. The Board is responsible for overseeing the operations and management of the Society.
