The Stinson Beach Historical Society (SBHS) was founded in 1991 to preserve and promote the history of Stinson Beach, California and its surrounding areas. Located just north of San Francisco, Stinson Beach is a small coastal community with a rich history. SBHS works to preserve the area’s unique historical character while also helping to promote its development.

SBHS is a non-profit organization that is open to all members of the community. It hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including lectures, film screenings, and field trips. SBHS also maintains an archive of documents and photographs related to the history of Stinson Beach and its inhabitants.

In addition to its events, SBHS produces a quarterly newsletter that provides information on local history, upcoming events, and society news. The society also hosts an annual exhibit at the Stinson Beach Library, which features artifacts from the area's past.
