Wilson House is a historic building located in East Dorset, Vermont. It was the birthplace of Bill Wilson, the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). The house was built in the late 1850s and was the home of the Wilson family for many years. In 1895, Bill Wilson was born in a small bedroom on the second floor of the house.

In 1950, the Wilson House was purchased by a group of AA members who formed the Wilson House Trust. They renovated the building and turned it into a retreat center for people in recovery from alcoholism and addiction. The Wilson House is now a non-profit organization that provides a safe, sober environment for people who are seeking recovery.

The Wilson House features 11 guest rooms, a library, a dining room, and a meeting room. The rooms are simple and comfortable, with a homey feel. The library is stocked with books and literature related to recovery, spirituality, and personal growth. The dining room serves healthy meals, and the meeting room is used for AA meetings and other recovery-related events.

The Wilson House is a significant landmark in the history of AA and has become a pilgrimage site for people in recovery from all over the world. It is a place where people can find hope, healing, and community as they work towards a life of sobriety and spiritual growth.

Rode down a very steep hill (6-8% grade over 5 miles), said farewell to my new friend Dave near Manchester, and stopped at the train crossing.
Made it over the big hills (which kicked my ass) to Bromley VT!
Arrived in Jamaica VT at the end of day 2, about 67 miles and 4000 feet of elevation. Picked up dinner from store/deli near the house of my Warmshowers host.
