The Glen Ellen Historical Society (GEHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and culture of the Glen Ellen community. Founded in 1977, the Society works to collect and share information about the history of Glen Ellen, California, with the public.

The Society is located in downtown Glen Ellen, in a building that was once the home of the Grist Mill, which was a landmark in the area for many years. The GEHS is open to the public and offers a variety of events and activities to educate and inform the public about the history of the community.

The Society has a large collection of artifacts from the local area, including items from the Grist Mill, the early settlers in the area, and the many businesses that were established in the area throughout the years. The GEHS regularly hosts guided tours of the downtown area, as well as a variety of educational programs and lectures.

The Society also publishes a quarterly newsletter, which is available to members and available to the public at local libraries. Additionally, the GEHS sponsors events such as the annual Fourth of July parade and fireworks in Glen Ellen.
