The Friends of Hopewell Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Humble, Texas. Founded in 1989, the organization’s mission is to preserve and enhance the quality of life in the greater Humble area through programs and activities that promote the preservation of historic sites and buildings, the promotion of art and cultural activities, and the protection of the environment.

The organization is composed of volunteers from the community who are dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and historical legacy of the area. Their activities include fundraising, educational programs, and special events.

The Friends of Hopewell Inc. is dedicated to preserving the historic buildings and sites around the area. They are responsible for the restoration and preservation of the historic Humble Post Office building, a two-story brick structure built in 1932. They have also restored the historic Humble Town Hall, an 1895 Victorian-style building.

The organization also sponsors a variety of educational programs in the area. These include lectures, tours, and workshops on a variety of topics such as local history, gardening, and conservation. They also host special events, such as the annual Humble City Fest, which features music, food, and art.

Houston Police Department Central Patrol Station, Riesner Street, Houston, TX Built in 1947, this Art Moderne-style building was constructed as the Houston Police Department Headquarters, and served in this capacity until 1997, when the headquarters moved to a newer facility. The building features a limestone-clad exterior with metal-frame ribbon windows, a vertical circulation tower at the main entrance with a decorative stone screen wall in front of the stairwell curtain wall, horizontal window shades, and a large modernist rear addition. The building presently serves as the Houston Police Department Central Patrol Station.
Heritage Plaza, Bagby Street, Houston, TX Built in 1986-1987, this Postmodern-style skyscraper, known as Heritage Plaza, was designed by M. Nasr and Partners for Clarion Realty Services as the last of a series of skyscrapers constructed during the height of the oil and real estate boom in Texas during the 1970s and 1980s. The building stands 53 stories and 762 feet (232 meters) tall, and features a tinted glass exterior with stone paneled accents, a Mayan Pyramid-inspired crown with a stepped pyramidal roofline and decorative piers, which emerges from the glass curtain wall at the top of the building, and a stone-clad base that also takes the form of a stepped pyramid. The building is one of the most distinctive and architecturally significant buildings on the Houston skyline constructed during the energy and real estate boom of the 1970s and 1980s.
TC Energy Center, Louisiana Street, Houston, TX Built in 1982-1983, this Postmodern-style skyscraper was designed by Philip Johnson and John Burgee to serve as a commercial office building, and has been known throughout its history as the RepublicBank Center, NCNB Center, NationsBank Center, and Bank of America Center. The building stands 56 stories and 780 feet (240 meters) tall, and features a distinctive roofline with three stepped gables of varying heights, dividing the building’s massing visually into three distinct sections, a red granite-clad exterior, a rear gabled atrium wing with a glass roof, and entrance bays with arched transoms, with the building’s features being informed by the appearance of historic skyscrapers. The building stands across the street from another Johnson and Burgee design, Pennzoil Place, which was built in 1976. TC Energy Center is one of the most distinctive and architecturally significant buildings on the Houston skyline constructed during the energy and real estate boom of the 1970s and 1980s.
