The Palacios Area Historical Association is an organization dedicated to preserving the rich history of Palacios, Texas, a small coastal town located in Matagorda County. Founded in 1976, the association has been working tirelessly to collect, preserve, and share the unique history of the area with residents and visitors alike.

The association's headquarters is located in the Historic Palacios Depot, which was built in 1907 and served as a hub for transportation and commerce in the early 20th century. Today, the depot has been restored and houses a museum that showcases the town's history through exhibits, artifacts, and photographs.

In addition to operating the museum, the Palacios Area Historical Association hosts events throughout the year, including walking tours, lectures, and festivals. The association also publishes a quarterly newsletter, which features articles on local history and updates on upcoming events.

The Palacios Area Historical Association is run by a board of directors and is supported by a dedicated group of volunteers.
