Back to the Water Pied-billed Grebe, <i>Podilymbus podiceps</i> at White Lake in Cullinan Park, which had been so dry for so long that much of it is covered with 4 or 5ft tall-trees. Nice to see water, and water birds, back on site. More of the experiment with the Classic Chrome film simulation, under a grey sky.
Chew Before 3. Swallowing Posted in reverse chronological sequence, so the photo stream will read sensibly from left to right. Didn’t see what this youngster—about a meter long—caught. Never observed a ‘gator eating in the wild before or since. This one is in shallow water, 2 or 3 meters from the shore. Sometimes think this little spot next to the parking lot, with the park bench and easy access for kayak launch, is the most dangerous place in the park, but the Muscovy Duck standing next to me was not concerned, so why should I be?
