The Menard County Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Menard, Texas. The Society was established in 1968 by a group of citizens who wanted to preserve the unique history of the area. The goal of the Society is to research, document, and display the history of Menard County and its people.

Old Frisco Railroad Depot (Menard, Texas) Historical marker for the old Frisco Depot in Menard, Texas. The plaque reads: "Seeking a rail line to speed marketing of their livestock, residents of this area in 1909 asked the Ft. Worth & Rio Grande Railroad, a branch of the Frisco System, to extend track from Brady (40 miles northeast) to Menardville. Ranchers donated right of way, while townspeople erected this depot and shortened the town's name to "Menard". Celebrations marked the arrival of the first train, Feb. 10, 1911, and completion of this mission revival station, July 4, 1911. The Santa Fe system later acquired the line. After rail service ended in 1972, this building became a historical museum. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark—1978"
Old Frisco Railroad Depot (Menard, Texas) Historic Frisco Depot in Menard Texas. The old station was built in 1911 by the Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railway (FW&RG) which was a subsidiary of the St. Louis–San Francisco Railway (SLSF), known as the "Frisco". The Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railway was sold to the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF) in 1937. The line was closed in 1972. The depot was designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1978.
