Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) is a public university located in Nacogdoches, Texas. It was founded in 1923 and is named after Stephen F. Austin, the “Father of Texas”. The campus is situated on 436 acres and is home to more than 13,000 students.

The university offers more than 120 undergraduate and graduate programs through six colleges: the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture, the College of Business, the College of Education, the College of Fine Arts, the College of Liberal and Applied Arts, and the College of Sciences and Mathematics. SFA is known for its strong programs in music, forestry, education, and nursing.

The university is also home to a number of research centers and institutes, including the Center for Regional Heritage Research, the National Center for Pharmaceutical Crops, and the Pineywoods Native Plant Center. SFA has a diverse student body, with students from all 50 states and more than 50 countries.

SFA is committed to student success, and offers a variety of support services, including tutoring, academic advising, and career services. The campus also features state-of-the-art facilities, including a student recreation center, a performing arts center, and a new science building.
