The Sons of the Republic of Texas is a non-profit, patriotic organization dedicated to the preservation of Texas’s independence and the memory of the men and women who fought and sacrificed for it. The group was founded in 1921 and is based in Austin, Texas. The Bay City chapter is one of the more than sixty chapters throughout the state. The Bay City chapter meets monthly in Bay City, Texas, at 7 pm on the first Tuesday of each month. The organization works to keep alive the history of Texas and its culture and traditions.

The group works to promote the study and appreciation of Texas history and the recognition of the contributions that Texas has made to the world. They are also involved in supporting veterans and their families. Additionally, the Sons of the Republic of Texas is known for their scholarship programs and other awards. These awards are given to students who have expressed an interest in studying Texas history, and have demonstrated a commitment to the preservation and understanding of Texas history.

The Bay City chapter also supports local events, such as the annual Tri-County Fair in Bay City. The Sons of the Republic of Texas is an active, involved organization, and they are proud to be an important part of Bay City’s history. The members strive to keep the memory of the brave men and women who fought for Texas’s freedom alive.
