Leon County Courthouse (Centerville, Texas) Historic Leon County Courthouse in Centerville, Texas. The Italianate style courthouse was constructed in 1886-87. It was built on the footprint of the previous 1856 courthouse, reusing much of the 1856 exterior brick. The courthouse was designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1966 and a State Antiquities Landmark in 1981. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 as part of the Leon County Courthouse and Jails entry (NRHP No. 77001458). The Leon County Courthouse was restored as part of a 2007 Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program project.
