The Kemah Historical Society (KHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and culture of the Kemah, Texas, area. Founded in 2001, the Society is committed to collecting and preserving the history of the Kemah area through its archives and museum. Located in the heart of Kemah, the Society’s museum is open to the public and houses a number of artifacts and documents that reflect the city’s rich history.
KHS strives to ensure that significant stories and events, as well as the people and places that have shaped the city’s past, are remembered and passed on to future generations. KHS also provides educational opportunities, such as workshops and lectures, to help further the knowledge of local history.
KHS is committed to promoting Kemah’s heritage and educating the public on the history of the area. The Society provides a variety of resources, including books, maps, photographs, and other documents, to help individuals learn more about the city’s past. In addition, KHS also offers a variety of events throughout the year, such as reenactments, walking tours, and historical presentations.
