The John M. Moore Home, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a two-story Victorian-style home that features original furnishings and period decor. Visitors can take guided tours of the home and learn about the Moore family, who were early settlers in the area.
The Briscoe-Garner Museum, named after former Texas governors Dolph Briscoe and John Nance Garner, features exhibits on Texas history, including Native American artifacts, military memorabilia, and items related to the cattle and oil industries. The Long-Smith Cottage, which was once home to a local blacksmith and his family, has been restored to its 1930s appearance and offers a glimpse into the life of a working-class family during the Great Depression.
In addition to operating these historic sites, the Fort Bend Museum Association also hosts educational programs, special events, and exhibits throughout the year. The association is funded by donations, memberships, grants, and proceeds from its gift shop.
