Vardy Presbyterian Church Vardy Presbyterian Church is located in Vardy Valley of Hancock County, TN. The area was settled in the early 1800s by several Melungeons, led by Vardeman "Vardy" Collins. With a $10,000 grant from the Tennessee Humanities Council, the Vardy Community Historical Society began restoring the Vardy Community School's surviving structures. Thompson Mill - Hancock County, TN I have no info on this mill other than the location. The creek which runs behind the mill is Fourmile Creek, which is also the name of the road which ascends at this spot. The creek runs another 1/4 mile to the Powell River, and were about 10 miles ESE to the county seat of Sneedville.
