The University of the South, commonly known as Sewanee, is a private liberal arts college located in Sewanee, Tennessee. It was founded in 1857 by the Episcopal Church and is one of the few remaining liberal arts colleges with a strong religious affiliation.
The campus is situated on a 13,000-acre mountaintop plateau and features Gothic-style buildings with stunning views of the surrounding forests and valleys. The university is home to over 1,700 undergraduate students, representing 47 states and 20 countries, and has a student-to-faculty ratio of 9:1.
