The Moore County Historical & Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization based in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Townsend School - Winchester, TN Townsend School was Franklin County's only African-American school until 1965. In 2019, it became a museum as the Townsend Cultural Center. The Rosenwald School opened in 1926 and replaced a wooden school which occupied the same site but burned down.
