Ruffin Theatre (Covington, Tennessee) Historic Ruffin Theatre on the Tipton County Courthouse square in Covington, Tennessee. The building began as the Palace Theatre. It was purchased by William F. Ruffin purchased the 1890 Palace Theatre in 1927. The building burned and he rebuilt the Ruffin Theater in 1937. It was remodeled in an Art Deco style in 1941. The theater closed in 1980. The Ruffin Theatre was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 (NRHP No. 92000248).
