James White Fort is a historic fort located in the city of Knoxville, Tennessee. It was built in 1786 by early settler James White, and is the oldest structure in Knoxville. The fort served as a safe haven for settlers during the Cherokee Wars, and served as a trading post and gathering place.

The fort is located on the south bank of the Tennessee River, overlooking the city. It is composed of two log blockhouses connected by a log palisade wall. Inside the fort, there are several buildings, including a kitchen, smokehouse, and trading post, as well as a powder magazine and guardhouse.

The fort has been restored and is now open to the public. Visitors can tour the fort and learn about its history, as well as explore the grounds, which include a garden, gazebo, and interpretive center. There are also educational programs and workshops available for visitors.
