The Chula Vista Police Historical Foundation Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2011. The Foundation was founded to preserve the history and legacy of the Chula Vista Police Department. The Foundation works to honor the dedication and sacrifice of the men and women who have served the department throughout its history.
The Foundation collects, preserves and exhibits items of historical interest to the Chula Vista Police Department, including photographs, documents, artifacts, and other memorabilia. The Foundation also works to support current police personnel and provide educational programs to the public.
The Foundation is managed and operated by a board of directors made up of current and retired members of the Chula Vista Police Department. The board meets monthly to discuss the Foundation's progress and plans for future activities.
The Foundation works closely with the Chula Vista Police Department to provide educational programs to the public. These programs include historical lectures and presentations, crime prevention seminars, and youth programs.
The Foundation has also established a Scholarship Program for students of criminal justice, law enforcement, and public safety. The scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need.
The Foundation also provides financial and logistical support for the Chula Vista Police Department's Special Olympics team, which has won numerous awards and accolades at the state and national level.
