Mount Hope Trust is a historic site situated in Bristol, Rhode Island. The property was originally owned by Metacom, also known as King Philip, the leader of the Wampanoag tribe in the late 17th century. The land was then passed down to his son, Wamsutta, who sold the property to the Brown family in the early 18th century.

The Brown family transformed the land into a large estate, complete with a grand mansion, gardens, and a chapel. The estate was used for social gatherings and was often visited by prominent figures, including George Washington.

After the Brown family sold the property, it was used for various purposes, including a sanitarium and a school. In 1969, the Mount Hope Trust was established to preserve and maintain the historic site. Today, the property is open to the public and offers guided tours of the mansion and gardens.

Visitors can explore the beautiful grounds and learn about the history of the property, including its ties to Native American culture and the American Revolution. The Mount Hope Trust also hosts various events throughout the year, including concerts and educational programs.
