World War II Chaplain Reenactment Educational Unit in Elysburg PA is a unique educational experience that offers visitors the chance to learn about the important role chaplains have played in the war. The unit is a living history project that was started in 2002 by the American Legion Post 787 and the Pennsylvania National Guard. It is staffed by volunteers who are passionate about educating the public about the history of chaplains in the war. The unit consists of an interactive museum, a service chapel, a re-enactment area and a library. Visitors are able to walk through the museum and view artifacts from the war such as uniforms, photographs, and other memorabilia. They are also able to take part in interactive activities such as re-enacting a chaplain's sermon or conducting a chaplain's service at the chapel. The unit also includes a library where visitors can access books and other resources related to World War II chaplains. The educational unit is open to the public and offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the important role chaplains have played in the war.
