Friends of Washington Crossing Park (FOWC) is a non-profit organization based in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. The organization was founded in 1981 as a volunteer organization to promote the preservation, protection and interpretation of the park’s historic sites, natural resources and other special places. FOWC’s mission is to “Preserve and Protect the History, Heritage and Natural Resources of Washington Crossing Park”.
FOWC works with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and other organizations to promote and protect the park and its resources. FOWC also works with schools and other organizations to provide educational programs and materials about the park’s history and natural resources.
FOWC sponsors a variety of special events throughout the year, including the reenactment of George Washington’s famous crossing of the Delaware River, a celebration of the park’s history, an annual 5K run and a holiday parade. In addition, FOWC works to ensure that the park’s historic structures and artifacts are preserved for future generations.
FOWC serves as an advocate for the park’s resources and works to ensure that the park’s resources are protected for future generations to enjoy. FOWC also works to increase public awareness and appreciation of the park’s history and natural resources.
