Solar Eclipse 2017 - Beginning to End I really had doubts that this one was going to work out! The forecast was calling for a 60% chance of thunderstorms in Lancaster, PA. I had some trouble with thick clouds in the beginning but in the end - it all worked out. Each photo was made with a Canon 70D and a Canon 17-40 mm f/4L lens @ 36 mm. The Caernarvon Historical Society (CHS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Narvon, Pennsylvania and its surrounding area. Founded in 1926, CHS is the oldest continually operating historical society in Lancaster County. It is a vibrant organization that promotes an appreciation of the past through events, educational programs, and research.

The mission of CHS is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of the area for present and future generations. The Society owns a museum and a variety of collections, including photographs, artifacts, manuscripts, and books. They are actively engaged in research projects, educational programs, and cultural events. CHS also manages the Caernarvon Historical Park, which includes a farmhouse, a one-room schoolhouse, a log cabin, and other historic structures.

CHS is a member of the Lancaster County Historical Society and participates in the countywide Heritage Days celebration. In addition, CHS works in collaboration with other local historical organizations and participates in regional activities. CHS also offers a wide range of programs for visitors and members, including lectures, tours, and workshops.

The Society is governed by a Board of Directors and a staff of volunteers. Membership is open to the public and anyone interested in supporting the mission of the Society. Through its collections, programs, and activities, CHS provides a wealth of information about the history and culture of Narvon, Pennsylvania and its surrounding areas.

A bright meteor along with the full &quot;flower&quot; moon are seen illuminating the Lancaster, PA countryside. The image was made of 415 twenty second exposures (about 2.5 hours). Each image was taken with a Canon T2i (f/5.0 with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens @ 14 mm / ISO 400) and stacked using StarStax. This must have been some meteor! I unfortunately must have been looking away but at least it was captured in the image.

The Fog Bank across the Stream A fog bank is seen engulfing a flowing stream in Lancaster, PA. Two stop (-2, 0, +2) HDR processing was done using Photomatix and light processing in Photoshop Elements. I originally wanted to photograph the thin crescent moon and Venus pairing; however, the clouds and fog had other plans! Despite missing the moon, I really like the way the photo turned out. Venus can be seen to the left of the tree in the middle of the photograph.
