Solar Eclipse 2017 - Beginning to End I really had doubts that this one was going to work out! The forecast was calling for a 60% chance of thunderstorms in Lancaster, PA. I had some trouble with thick clouds in the beginning but in the end - it all worked out. Each photo was made with a Canon 70D and a Canon 17-40 mm f/4L lens @ 36 mm. The Manheim Historical Society (MHS) is a non-profit organization located in Manheim, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1977 to preserve, collect, and interpret the history of Manheim and the surrounding area. MHS seeks to promote the understanding of local history through its educational programs, exhibits, and events.

The Society's home is the Manheim Museum. This museum houses a wide variety of historical artifacts, photographs, documents, and other material related to Manheim's history. The museum also offers exhibits that tell the story of the town's past. These exhibits include a 19th-century parlor, a one-room schoolhouse, a general store, an old-fashioned barbershop, and a room dedicated to local businesses. The museum also has a gift shop and a research library.

MHS also presents a variety of educational programs and events throughout the year. These include lectures, workshops, and walking tours. The Society also hosts an annual Manheim Heritage Day celebration. This event features tours of historic sites, demonstrations, and live entertainment.

MHS is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Manheim and its surrounding region. Through its programming, the Society seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the area's past and to create a sense of community among its citizens.

The Meteor and the Flower Moon LPOD on June 7, 2013 -- lpod.wikispaces.com/June+7%2C+2013 ( <a href="http://lpod.wikispaces.com/June+7,+2013" rel="noreferrer nofollow">lpod.wikispaces.com/June+7,+2013</a> ) A bright meteor along with the full "flower" moon are seen illuminating the Lancaster, PA countryside. The image was made of 415 twenty second exposures (about 2.5 hours). Each image was taken with a Canon T2i (f/5.0 with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens @ 14 mm / ISO 400) and stacked using StarStax. This must have been some meteor! I unfortunately must have been looking away but at least it was captured in the image.
The Fog Bank across the Stream A fog bank is seen engulfing a flowing stream in Lancaster, PA. Two stop (-2, 0, +2) HDR processing was done using Photomatix and light processing in Photoshop Elements. I originally wanted to photograph the thin crescent moon and Venus pairing; however, the clouds and fog had other plans! Despite missing the moon, I really like the way the photo turned out. Venus can be seen to the left of the tree in the middle of the photograph.
