Media Historic Preservation in Media, Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the historic buildings and resources of the town. Founded in 1995, it is part of the Delaware County Historic Preservation Network and works in partnership with the Media Borough and the Delaware County Planning Commission to protect the town's architectural and cultural heritage.
The mission of Media Historic Preservation is to promote the preservation of Media's historic assets, including its buildings, structures, sites, and objects. Media Historic Preservation has worked on several projects in the town, most notably the restoration of the Media Armory Building in 2004. Other projects completed by Media Historic Preservation include the restoration of the Media Theater, the preservation of the Media Mural, and the restoration of the 19th century Elwyn House.
Media Historic Preservation also provides free walking tours of the town, which are led by trained docents. These tours provide an in-depth look at the history of Media and its buildings, and highlight the town's unique architecture and history. Additionally, Media Historic Preservation offers educational programs and hosts lectures and workshops on topics related to historic preservation.
