The Upper Makefield Historical Society (UMHS) is a non-profit organization based in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, dedicated to preserving the history of the area. Founded in 1985 and incorporated in 1987, the UMHS has a mission to “preserve, promote, and teach the history of Upper Makefield, Pennsylvania, and its surrounding environs.”
The UMHS is located in the historic Washington Crossing State Park, which is home to several significant historical sites, including the Washington Crossing Historic Park and Washington Crossing Open Air Theater. The UMHS is dedicated to preserving the history of Upper Makefield, including its early settlement, the development of the township, and the important people and events that shaped the area.
