UPPER DARBY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Upper Darby Historical Society (UDHS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1992, UDHS works to preserve, protect and promote the history of Upper Darby Township and its surrounding communities. The Society operates the Upper Darby Township Historical Museum, which showcases the history of the area through artifacts, photographs and other displays.

The Society also sponsors educational and cultural programs throughout the year, including lectures, tours, talks, and other events. Additionally, UDHS publishes a quarterly newsletter that contains articles and stories about the history of Upper Darby Township and its surrounding communities.

The Society's collections include over 10,000 photographs, documents, books, maps and artifacts related to the history of Upper Darby Township. The collections are housed in the Upper Darby Township Historical Museum, located in the historic Old Lansdowne Firehouse.

The Society is governed by a board of directors and is funded through donations, membership fees, grants, and fundraising efforts. The Society is a member of the Pennsylvania Federation of Historical Societies, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, and the American Association of State and Local History.
