The Conyngham Valley Historical Society (CVHS), located in Conyngham, Pennsylvania, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve, collect and interpret the history of the Conyngham Valley. The Society was founded in 1975 and is located at the historic Conyngham Union Church. The Society’s collections include artifacts, photographs, documents, books, and other items relating to the history of the area.

The Society holds a number of regular events and programs, such as lectures, workshops, house tours, and an annual holiday open house. The Society also offers a variety of educational programs for school groups, including a “Kids in the Valley” program. In addition, the Society maintains a research library and archives and offers research assistance to the public.

The main focus of the CVHS is to promote and preserve the history of the Conyngham Valley and its people. The Society is actively involved in the preservation of local buildings, artifacts, and historical sites. They work in partnership with other organizations, such as the Luzerne County Historical Society and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, to help preserve the history of the region.

The CVHS is supported by dues, donations, grants, and other forms of fundraising. Their members come from all over the Conyngham Valley and beyond. The CVHS is an important part of the local community, helping to preserve and celebrate the history of the Conyngham Valley for generations to come.
