New U.S. 101 turn lane at East Bay Road near North Bend The Oregon Department of Transportation opened a new right-turn lane from northbound U.S. 101 onto East Bay Road near the north end of McCullough Bridge on April 16, 2024. The project will also install a southbound left-turn lane from U.S. 101 onto East Bay Road, replace the traffic signal and create pedestrian connections through the intersection, which is located between North Bend and the community of Glasgow. Workers can be seen building a new pedestrian island. Construction on the project began in January and prime contractor HP Civil, Inc. is scheduled to complete work this summer.

The Coos County Historical Society Museum in North Bend, Oregon is a great place to learn about the history of the area. It is located in the historic Marshfield Times building and has been open since 1975. The museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Coos County and the surrounding area.
