OREGON STATE POLICE FALLEN TROOPER MEMORIAL

SALEM, OR

The Oregon State Police Fallen Trooper Memorial is located in Salem, Oregon. It is dedicated to the brave men and women who have given their lives in the line of duty while serving as an Oregon State Trooper. The memorial consists of two granite walls, each representing the fallen troopers. The walls are mounted with bronze plaques that bear the names, ranks and years of service of each fallen trooper. The plaques are surrounded by black granite that symbolizes the grief of the families and friends of the fallen troopers.

In the center of the memorial is a bronze statue of a trooper, standing guard over the fallen troopers. The statue is surrounded by a granite wall with a flame on each side. The flame symbolizes the eternal flame of courage, honor and dedication of the fallen troopers.

The memorial was dedicated on October 5, 2002. It stands in the Oregon State Capitol State Park in Salem, Oregon. It has become a place of remembrance and reflection for Oregon State Troopers, families, friends and citizens. The memorial is a reminder of the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have given their lives while protecting and serving the citizens of Oregon.
