The Newell House Museum is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota in the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood. The house was built in 1853 and is the oldest surviving house in Saint Paul. It is a two-story Greek Revival style brick building with a low pitched roof and two large chimneys. It was originally built by William and Mary Newell, who were among the earliest settlers in the area.

The house was later occupied by the Newell’s daughter, Harriet Starr, and her husband, William Starr. The house was purchased by the City of Saint Paul in 1999 and was opened as a museum in 2002.

The museum is open to the public and offers tours of the house, which is filled with period furnishings from the mid-19th century. It also features several exhibits about the history of the area and the Newell family. Visitors can also view an outdoor exhibition that highlights the area’s native plants and wildlife.

The Newell House Museum is a great place to learn about the history of Saint Paul and the early settlers who helped shape the city we know today. It is a wonderful reminder of the hard work and dedication of the people who founded the city and of the values and traditions that continue to define it.
