E. J. Wollage deeded 41 acres of land which include this 2 acre parcel to his former slave Mariah Wollage in 1867. There was a Chapel located at the front of the Cemetery known as Cherokee Chapel and it is indicated by a map of 1887. The locals of Huntington still remember the small Chapel and when the cemetery was fenced in.
