The Alabama Historic Ironworks Foundation (AHIF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of ironworking in Alabama. Founded in 1994, the foundation works to preserve, document and interpret the ironworking heritage of the state. AHIF is located at the historic Mc Calla Ironworks in Mc Calla, Alabama. The site consists of a series of buildings, including a forge, blacksmith shop, foundry, and a machine shop.

The foundation offers tours of the site, as well as educational programs and workshops. The tours provide visitors with a glimpse into the history of ironworking in Alabama, including the history of the Mc Calla Ironworks. The educational programs and workshops provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about ironworking techniques and processes. AHIF also offers a living history program, which allows visitors to experience the sights and sounds of the ironworking culture of the past.

In addition to preserving and interpreting the history of ironworking, AHIF is actively involved in the preservation of ironworking artifacts. The foundation has acquired a number of artifacts, including tools, machines, and other items used in ironworking. These artifacts are available for viewing onsite at the Mc Calla Ironworks.

AHIF is committed to preserving the history of ironworking in Alabama and to educating the public about the importance of ironworking in the state's history. The foundation's efforts have helped to ensure that the history of ironworking in Alabama is remembered and appreciated.
