The Winesburg Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Winesburg, Ohio. It was founded in 1984 by a group of local citizens who sought to preserve the history of the local area. The Society is devoted to the study, research, and preservation of the history, culture, and artifacts of Winesburg and the surrounding region.

The Society's collection includes photographs, documents, objects, and memorabilia that date from the late 19th century to the present. The Society also holds an extensive library of books, periodicals, maps, and other audio/visual materials related to the local area.

The Winesburg Historical Society offers educational programs, lectures, and seminars on various topics, as well as tours of historical sites in and around Winesburg. It also hosts an annual festival each summer, which includes tours of the town, music, food, and other entertainment.

The Society is supported by memberships, donations, grants, and fundraising activities. The Winesburg Historical Society is a member of the Ohio Historical Society and a charter member of the Ohio Local History Alliance. It is committed to preserving the history of Winesburg and the surrounding area, and to serve as a resource for the citizens of Winesburg and the surrounding communities.
