Lost Davis Lane Bridge (Mason County, Kentucky) Lost Pratt through truss bridge on Davis Lane over the North Fork of the Licking River in Mason County, Kentucky.  The historic bridge was constructed in 1894 by the Toledo Bridge Company.  It was closed to traffic in 2019 and replaced by a new bridge in 2020.

The John P. Parker Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Ripley, Ohio. It is dedicated to preserving the memory of John P. Parker, a former slave who escaped to freedom and later returned to Ripley to become a successful businessman and community leader. The Society was founded in 2000 and since then has been actively engaged in researching and promoting the history of Parker and his family.

The Society is a membership organization and offers a variety of activities and services to its members. These include lectures and presentations, field trips, and other educational and cultural events. The Society also provides access to its archives, which includes original documents and photographs related to John P. Parker and his family. In addition, the Society works with local schools and community organizations to develop educational programs about Parker and his life.

The Society also provides financial support for the John P. Parker House, a National Historic Landmark located in Ripley. This house, built by Parker in 1865, offers a unique view into the life of a former slave who achieved success in the face of tremendous obstacles. It is open for tours, and the Society sponsors special events at the house throughout the year.

The Society is committed to educating the public about the life of John P. Parker and the history of Ripley and surrounding communities. Its members strive to keep Parker’s memory alive and to promote the values that he embodied in his life.
