The Covington-Newberry Historical Society (CNHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and culture of the city of Covington, Ohio. The society was founded in 1967 and is located in the historic Covington City Hall building. The CNHS aims to preserve and promote the history of Covington and the surrounding area by collecting and displaying artifacts, hosting educational programs, and preserving historic buildings and sites.

The CNHS has a museum and research library, both of which are open to the public. The museum houses a collection of artifacts related to the history of Covington and the surrounding area. Founded in 1921 as the Weaver Aircraft Company and located in Loraine, Ohio, the WACO Aircraft Company relocated to Troy in March 1923. It was the first aircraft company to use assembly line production and shock strut landing gear. Leading all civilian aircraft production at a ration of two to one from 1927-1929, the company had sales distributors in 24 countries worldwide. The United States government became the prime contractor of WACO Aircraft Company's troop/cargo gliders (CG-4A) used extensively during World War II. The company also managed the U.S. Army's glider program for 15 companies that produced gliders nationwide. The last WACO, model W 'Aristocraft' was built in Troy in June 1947." Eldean Covered Bridge The Eldean Covered Bridge sits just outside of Troy, Ohio. The onsite historical marker says: "Originally known as Allen's Mill Bridge, the Eldean Covered Bridge was built over the Great Miami River in 1860 for Miami County by the Hamilton Brothers of nearby Piqua. Its 224 feet place it among Ohio's longest covered bridges and the longest in the nation that follows an 1830 Stephen H. Long patent, considered America's first science-based bridge design. Big Four Bridge The massive Big Four Bridge in Sidney, Ohio was named for the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway, which was nicknamed the Big Four railroad. An onsite historical marker says: "This landmark bridge was completed in September 1924 by the Walsh Construction Company for the C.C.C.&St.L. Railroad, and hailed as a 'stupendous piece of engineering work.' The original Bellefontaine and Indiana line went through downtown Sidney but was rerouted to this location due in part to the 1913 flood. Construction project materials included 28,000 yards of concrete and 900,000 pounds of steel. Five men died during construction."
