Hubbard House Underground Railroad Museum, located in Ashtabula, Ohio, is a historic house museum dedicated to the history of the Underground Railroad movement in the United States. The museum is housed in the former home of Thomas and Harriet Hubbard, two of Ashtabula County’s most prominent Underground Railroad activists. The home was built in 1842 and is located in the historic district of Ashtabula.

The museum offers visitors a close look at the Hubbard’s life and their role in the abolitionist movement. The main exhibit showcases artifacts from the Hubbard family collection, including letters and photographs, as well as a variety of other items from the time period. There are also interactive exhibits that detail the stories of other abolitionists, fugitive slaves, and their struggles for freedom.

In addition to the exhibits, the museum offers educational programs for students, as well as lectures and tours of the house and the surrounding grounds. The Hubbard House also hosts special events throughout the year, including Black History Month, Juneteenth, and the annual Hubbard House Freedom Festival.

The mission of the Hubbard House Underground Railroad Museum is to honor the lives and legacy of Thomas and Harriet Hubbard, as well as to educate visitors on the importance of the Underground Railroad movement and its impact on the nation’s history. The museum is open to the public and admission is free.
